IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FLIGHTS
One of the most important goals is to have all our client’s flights arriving and departing around the same time. Before booking your flights for our trips please let us help guide you into the right flight choice based on our tour schedule and other party’s flights. As you can imagine, this can get very complicated. It is our goal to make this as smooth as possible and to use our bus as the main shuttle to and from the airport. View our terms and conditions
DAY 1-Playa Larga Arrival at Santa Clara International airport. Collect your bags and go through customs. You will be welcomed at the airport lobby by your bilingual Cuban guide and professional bus driver. This is the perfect time to exchange your money into the local Cuban currency (C.U.C). we recommend exchanging enough money to have $200 - $250 C.U.C. on you for the duration of the trip. This will come in handy for buying extra drinks, souvenirs, and tips. Enjoy the comfort of our coach bus while taking in the scenery on route to our first location. Lunch on the first day is the only meal not included in your trip cost. If your flight arrives in time for lunch we will arrange a great meal for you at a private restaurant. With our bellies full we are off to Villa Guama on the Bay of Pigs. The Guama Islands in the Treasure Lagoon were once the site of a Taíno Aboriginal settlement. Here, we will stay in traditional native style cabins with thatched roofs raised on stilts above the water. Don´t let these rustic cabins fool you. They are all equipped with a private bath, mini bar, satellite T.V. and a balcony with a lake view. Explore the numerous islands via bridges and board walks. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Enjoy nature at its finest! Evening at leisure. ACCOMMODATION: Hotel Horizontes Villa Guama
DAY 2 – Playa Larga / Punta Perdiz After breakfast we depart to the Punta Perdiz diving center. We will enjoy a magnificent dive in this protected area. Home to hundreds of bright coloured fish and beautiful coral. The natural environment here has remained unspoiled thanks to the protective laws of the environmental organizations. If this is your first time diving you can also ease into it by enjoying a little snorkeling to warm up. A refreshing swim to a quiet beach right next to our diving spot is also an option. We provide snorkeling gear for our activities but feel free to bring your own equipment. Lunch will be served in this magnificent place and in the afternoon we will visit the Playa Giron Museum to learn about Cuba´s history and the events that happened on site in the famous “bay of pigs”. Return to Guama and free time to settle in and rest up. Dinner is served at the hotel. Relax and enjoy the evening. ACCOMMODATION: Hotel Horizontes Villa Guama.
DAY 3 – Cave Dive / Cienfuegos After breakfast we depart from Villa Guama and stop at a great snorkeling spot on the coast. Enjoy a variety of tropical fish in both the ocean and inland where the ocean and freshwater mix forming an impressive pool and underwater cave. This wonderful place will provide you with the opportunity for a second dive but this time in a cave. A bus ride will then take us 2.0 hours away to the city of Cienfuegos. Lunch will be waiting us at a private restaurant that proudly holds the name of the greatest singer in the history of Cienfuegos and one of the best in Cuba, Benny Moré. Cienfuegos is one of the prettiest cities in Cuba and shows signs of French and Spanish influences. This is also a great time to pick-up handmade souvenirs in the city´s square. We will also give you a quick tour of the city and then get you checked into your “casa particular” in the heart of the city and smack dab in the middle of the Cuba culture and people. Enjoy an unparalleled dinner at the Cienfuegos Yacht Club. A great spot to enjoy a splendid sunset over the bay and sip a “Cienfuegos Passion” cocktail. Enjoy some free time in the evening or join us in an evening of fun at a nightclub. ACCOMMODATION: Private houses in Cienfuegos
DAY 4 – Cienfuegos Bay Area After breakfast, we will head to our first stop which will be at the diving center in Faro Luna. Under Faro Luna´s water lies the Notre Dame coral towers. This astonishing coral structure has grown over 12 meters in height. There are also naturally-formed coral mazes and a variety of ship wrecks to explore. North-west of this area is the Jagua´s ocean basin, which is over 300 meters deep. Nearby there is one of the best kept secrets in Cienfuegos, Rancho Cristal. This private restaurant is considered one of the best places to eat on the south shore. The restaurant serves up some of the best Cuban food you will ever taste. Enjoy this delicious lunch with a perfect view over-looking Cienfuegos Bay. Spend some time to relax and get ready for the next adventure ahead. Here we will hop aboard a nice vessel and navigate through the best maritime scenery that you can imagine. Freshwater springs in the middle of the salt water bay, a beautiful view of Cienfuegos´ city, our Señora de Nuestros Angeles de Jagua Spanish Fortress, Alcatraz Cay and Carenas Cay are some of the surprises that are waiting for you. Get your cameras ready for breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable moments. Cienfuegos city will be our home for another night. Now, the best way to end such a special day is to enjoy a traditional home cooked meal and relax. Enjoy some free time in the evening. ACCOMMODATION: Private houses in Cienfuegos
DAY 5 – Guanaroca / Guajimico ise and shine dear adventurers! It is time for our last breakfast in Cienfuegos city. Today we depart via bus to a paradise surrounded by nature on the central south coast. Turquoise waters, ancient coral cliffs and caves. On the way to this picturesque place we will make a quick stop to visit Laguna de Guanaroca. This lagoon is home to one of Cuba´s largest flocks of pink flamingos. With the help of row boats and a guide you will be able to get fairly close to the flamingos, which will make for some great pictures. After a beautiful back country bus ride we arrive for lunch at “La Vega” restaurant. Here we will saddle up for a relaxing horse back ride. Our ride takes us through the rolling hills of Cuba´s central mountain range on route to the majestic turquoise waters and a very isolated private beach. Cool down in the ocean with a refreshing swim and a little snorkeling. After relaxing on the beach we will circle back to our starting point and the bus will take us to Guajimico Villa. Catch a perfect sunset while enjoying a welcome cocktail from the pool deck. Dinner is served at the resort at 7:30pm and free time in the evening. Enjoy your night in paradise. DAY 6 – Guajimico We are pretty sure that after seeing and spending at night here in Guajimico you would want to stay longer and explore the area. No problem! Its one our favorite spots in all of Cuba and it rivals something out of “The Blue Lagoon” movie. A nature lovers paradise. After breakfast join us for a short hike to an impressive cave system. At the end of the cave tour a trail will take us to the most beautiful isolated beach coves you will ever see. Bring you swim suit and dive into the turquoise water. If you are feeling like you need a little crazy in your life, we will show you the prefect spot to cliff jump into the ocean. After lunch prepare yourself for a very special activity later in the afternoon. We are going to do a night dive which will thrill all of your senses…there’s nothing quite like it!! This is about 45minutes off-site so by the time we get back dinner will be a little later than normal but well worth it. Afterwards, enjoy dancing and music around the bar or take it easy and relax, your last day of adventure comes tomorrow. ACCOMMDATION: Villa Guajimico
Day 7 - Trinidad Rise and shine dear adventurers! Breakfast at 8:00am. Today we depart via bus to one of the first and therefore oldest cities in Cuba, Trinidad. The vicinity of the river enriches the fauna of the surrounding area. This place is home for a couple of wild manatees, which are usually seen floating around, lots of fish, and a huge colony of seashells. After a great dive we will have lunch at a private restaurant over looking the sea. Next up, Trinidad and of course you cannot arrive to this wonderful city without a tour through its most important areas. This place screams Cuba from head to toe!
